The #10 ranked Saints lost a tough battle to #9 Brandywine by a 9-4 score on Saturday. SAS, seeemingly still reeling from the loss of Taylor White to a thumb injury in Friday's practice, got off to a slow start and were behind by 5-2 at halftime. The Saints fought back in the second half and were down 5-4 when Brandywine got consecutive 1 minute slashing calls. Brandywine's Army bound Senior, Connor Hayes, preceded to almost single handedly hold the ball for the entire penalty. This seemed to deflate the Saints and they could not get another goal past the strong Brandywine goaltender. Once again the Saints were victimized by their inability to clear the ball successfully and this led to Brandywine controlling play the rest of the way. SAS faces a critical week ahead with two big independent conference games, away at Sanford on Tuesday and their biggest game of the season on Friday at home against the 7-3 and first place Tower Hill squad. |
