SAS won an overtime thriller today at home against archrival and previously undefeated Tatnall by a score of 10-9. Bucky Pierce ripped home the game winner against his former school to secure the victory.

This game was clearly the best game played all season by the SAS squad and was a tight battle all game with no team ever getting more than a 2 goal lead.

Senior Co-Captain Phil Valliant played beautifully with 5 goals as Tatnall could never seem to find an answer to slowing Phil down. Bucky Pierce had 2 goals on the day. Other scorers were Co-Captain Luke Walter and Max Dynerman. The offense was aided by the strong faceoff work of Alex Flynn, as well as strong dodging and feeds from Taylor White.

The defense got a tremendous boost with the return from injury of Russell Train. Russell played primarily on one of Tatnall's big 2 scorers and did a great job on him. Ben McDonald also had a big game shutting down Tatnall's premier attackman who had started the season with 7 goals in their first 2 games. Ford Van Fossan also had an extremely good game with several end to end clears using both his right and left hands equally well. Dan Dittmar had his usual strong game in the nets and frequently frustrated the Tatnall shooters.

Overall, a great victory and a great high school lacrosse game played by both schools.

SAS has another tough, Independent conference game at Friends on Thursday and a Saturday matchup against an improved Archmere team.
